Migraines - Their Causes and How to Treat Them

If you are not so lucky, it may not be possible for you to find your exact migraine triggers. However, with the proper treatment it is possible to lead a more productive life.

Migraine drugs

There are a number of prescription drugs available to fight the pain of migraine headaches. Some of these are to be taken daily to prevent the onset of a migraine. If you suffer migraine headaches frequently, your healthcare provider may prescribe some of these medications. If you suffer from these headaches only occasionally, you may be prescribed a drug designed to prevent your migraine headaches from coming on. As you These medications can be quite expensive. However, if your migraines are causing you to miss work and are affecting the quality of your life, the cost may be worthwhile.

Unfortunate but true

It's unfortunate but true that if you suffer from the pain of migraines you probably find it difficult to participate in your normal, daily activities. However, your primary physician -- or a neurologist -- can prescribe medication that can improve your life and help you live without this terrible pain.
